thanks!

A detroit locker is a full carrier locker that should be professionally set up unlike a lunchbox that lots of guys have good results installing at home with no setup.

I had mine installed by a pro for 140 and paid 450 for the locker and another 100 for the master install kit. So 700 all together.

I know this is an old thread--but i was curious about what the break-in period was like? Did your Detroit Softy pop and band a little when first installed? After a bit does it soften up?

Just curious--just got mine installed in my runner and it pops and lock and bangs more than i expected. Then again i only have 50 miles on her.

Thanks

My Lockrite never got any better. I hated it. I had a TrueTrac put in my 2002 4Runner and it's 100% seamless for the most part on the hwy. When I romp on it both tires light up though so it's very close to 100% locked at that point. I just don't get all the clicking and popping. Best thing going I think.

Does anyone have any experience with the OX lockers? Seen them in action? I know they aren't available for the 4Runner, but it seems like a good alternative to the compressed air type locker.

You guys seem to leave out the best lunch box locker ever made for a Toyota.
AUSSIE LOCKERS. By far the best design period

Cheaper than the rest to.

there just seems to be to much poping, lurching and banging with the Soft Locker (its not really that soft). I am thinking about just going back to True Track LSD and running the Parking brake when i need to. I will give the Softy 1000 miles and see where i am at.
