Light Switch acting funny...

well on my 98 runner, the light switch to turn the headlights on must be wearing out or something cause i can turn the switch on, but if i wiggle it at all the lights will flicker like something's not making contact.

Is there a write up somewhere on how to fix that switch on the turn signal lever or how to take it apart?

I would like to know too. I'm having the same problem, its annoys me when I have the headlights on and if I signal to change lines, my headlight turn off until I wiggle the switch.

Keep me posted

This might help, it's from an older vehicle but the switch may be similar

great find - thx. not sure about pulling the steering wheel off due to airbag stuff - will that get in the way?

also, just noticed there is a little round thing on the end of the blinker/headlight switch - maybe that pops out.

Under your steering wheel look and there is 3 screws that hold in that 2-piece thing that your multi-function switch. Un-screw the cover that is mentioned above and you can get to your turnsignal lever. No need to take apart your steering wheel.

Thumbs up Thanx

I have the same problem on my 98 4Runner! Thanks for bringing it up and for the great tips,

I'll see if i can get around to poke around the steering wheel this weekend... It is driving me crazy, because the headlights turn off every time i take a left turn and use the blinker

cheers
