LCE headers 1st gen

Anyone have the 22RE headers from LCE?
I noticed last night that the finish on mine is peeling. I guess the heat was just too much for it?

Should I wrap the headers or are they okay as they are?

I have the thorley headers. and they turned rainbow colors, but no peeling.

Is your header ceramic coated???

DO NOT WRAP THE HEADERS!!!!!! Header wrap will keep the heat in and cause the header to get even hotter and probably crack. Most header companies will void your warranty if you used wrap.

How long have you had the header for?

I'm not sure if it had the ceramic coating. I'm pretty sure it did? It was a matte silver finish.

I've had the headers on since you saw my 1st gen at Protrux, Seth.
Turns out that rattling I'd mentioned to you was the headers against a plate on the driver side. I pushed it a little and haven't heard any rattling since.

Couldn't say, I had a gasket fixed at the same time. Up to that point I'd never felt my '86 at its full capacity.

The header definitely helped, but I put it in conjunction with a K&N FIPK, 2.25 piping, hi flow cat and flowmaster 40 series. And some Nology plug wires. To me anything regarding flow will only work as well as it's weakest link. You really need to do all of it to get the full potential out of any piece of it. But I think the header makes the biggest difference.

My LCE header is showing its age and a bit of rust after 6 years. ( Ilive on the beach and drive on it often). I noticed a BIG difference in power after the install of the LCE street performer head, header, cat, and 2.25 exhaust.
