K&N Filterchargers and FIPKs
i'm looking to get a new airfilter and possibly a FIPK for my '95 4Runner and was just wondering what kind of results other people have had with either of these. what kind of improvements do these really give. i've heard that with a V6, even the performance kit won't really give a significant boost worth the $200 for it. also my air filter box has got all those extra emissions ˟˟˟˟ connected to it and i was wondering if the K&N kits have connections for those.

I've had both. Not sure how well the ISR mod works, but I personally like the FIPK. It gives a nice low and mid range boost....and a nice growl.
The FIPK is 50 state smog legal, there's connections for all that shizzle.

recently installed fipk
I actually just installed the fipk last week and am very happy with the results. Sounds great and have noticed a difference in gain. ISR MOD sounded good but I was not mechanically inclined and ready to do it hehe.

we like um
my family as three 4x4 4runners all with the 3.0 ( 88,92,&95) for all of them we have K&N fipk's on them with we all noticed a power increase for all of our cars. We also have flowmasters on the 88 and 92 but the increase was still noticed on the 95 aswell.

I'm using the FIPK on my girl right now and I really like it. I got a 2.4L and it's still a dog on the hills but I have noticed a power gain and the nice intake sound when you slam on the gas. Plus if you have some ricer friends you can pop the intake at them. hehehe...

Sorry to break the attention from him, but how does the FIPK work for the 4cylinders? I wonder if they even make them for carbed engines, I would think you'd need one of the newer computer controlled engines...
Also, when are you going to be here in Colorado?

You're level of 4wheeling or mod prowess doesn't matter! Not here on yotatech. I have yet to be on a trail and my truck has hardly anything on it too, as per my signature... They are also doing some wheeling the following weekend, so myabe you could get your feet wet, they will be easy, scenic trails good for stock trucks.

well i finally made it up here to boulder. my truck handled the drive pretty well too. it seems to lag even worse up here in the thin air..pain in the ass! i'd like to get some info on this weekend though. i wanna get to know some of the area and it sound like this would be a good place to start, plus i just can't wait to get up into the mountains. thanks
