Jus' a smart biznez thought....
.....concerning 2004 and before tacos.
If the spy-stuff I've been reading about on this board concerning 2005 tacos possibly being closer to mid-size class than compact truck class, and being re-styled to look like a baby tundra, do any of you think it would make sense to think that down the road that recent taco models before 2005 will eventually become an appreciated and cherished commodity in the market???
Newer won't necessarily mean better for the new 2005 tacos for the first 2-3 model years.
Whaddya' think?

Since when is newer ever better when you're talking about vehicles?
IMO the newer they get the more I don't like them.
Too many bells and whistles, the more features you have, the more features break.
I wish they built em like they used to

scofo, check this link
I live here in So. Nv. which resembles Afghanistan alot. I only so far take 1 or 2 day trips at most with my taco, so I don't stray far. U might have seen this page, but my mods I try to keep in mind w/ my local terrain.

Looks like no susp. lifts there, but gets the job done, especially with those mounted M-60's.
I really can't see the military using the 2005's for that job.

No, I don't see any investment opportunity here. Look at market values of previous generation pickups. None appreciated. Too many were built for them to be considered rare. With 140,000/yr. sold in the U.S., there will be no shortage in the resale market.
Current Toyota classics/collectibles were produced in small numbers during their model year. FJ-40 comes to mind, and during their last few years probably sold <3,000/yr here, a SWAG.
Even the Gen. III 4Runner 5M/T, the last of it's kind and thought to be the best looking and performing by so many here, depreciates normally. Maybe in 20 years one with factory locker and Sport or Highlander trim will start back up. Only about 10,000/yr. of those were built (another SWAG).
I'm hoping the '05 Taco X-Runner will be in demand. I read that only 5,000/yr. will be produced and if they catch on like Ford's Lightning, they could be a hot item during their first year.
