ive seen it in that catalog. They make some systems for applications that the normal companies dont. It doesn't look all that exciting though. Im thinking about buying a magnaflow muffler and a borla intercooled tip and having them installed with new pipe for about the same amount as jardine or less. Just my 2 cents

I have a Jardine system on my truck. So does RidgeRunner, and White SR5. Everyone loves the sound of my truck.

I sent Corey a clip, but I don't think it's still on his exhaust comparison page... Lemme know if you want me to email it to you.

Buy it, you'll like it.

Peace!

there is a member who got the wrong jardine exhaust system three times from performance. my neighbor also had the wrong jardine exhaust sent to him from perfomance.....needless to say neither were able to open the box and bolt it on. my neighbor got some idiot to install it at midas for $100. it took the poor guy many bends and six hours to install it, he honored the hundered bux tho. it made his 22re sound pretty ricey, but i bet the v6's sound mean. i would price custom, there is some rite ups in the "yota tech on the web" section.

I was the member to whom PP tried to send the wrong exhaust 3 times. I corrected them each time before they actually sent it. The problem exists with them because they fail to realize that there is a whole other world outside California.

Since my truck is a 2000, according to them, it should have 2 Catalytic Converters. However, my truck is a FEDERAL EMISSIONS vehicle and therefore has only ONE Cat. I explained this to them over and over until I got one salesperson who would actually listen and send me the Jardine System for the 96-98 models. I even told them that I had spoken with Jardine Directly and that the part number that I needed was indeed correct. I also told them that their competitors were aware of this fact. I mentioned that they night want to update their website and their own internal database to reflect this. It has never happened.

Jardine recommended a different company to do business with when I asked them for a local dealer. Since none were local to me, they suggested Truck Performance Center. But, since I had a coupon for 15% off, I decided to go with PP.

I saved quite a bit of money in the long run. But, it was the short run that proved frustrating. Generally speaking, PP's prices are really high compared to other retailers. Their sales staff seems ignorant and less than attentive. I don't imagine that I'll ever buy anything from them again.

I have one...

I think I have some sound/movie files from the guy I bought mine from. Send me an e-mail (StAAr9Chi1@aol.com) and I'll e-mail them back to you. The Jardine system is definately awesome. My 4Runner is S/C'ed and has the Jardine exhaust, and I've compared it to another S/C'ed 4Runner with TRD headers and the TRD exhaust. The Jardine is definately louder and deeper and throatier than the TRD one. It supposedly adds 15-20 hp too. And if you want to install it yourself it is very possible. If your bolts are rusted it might give you trouble though. It's definately reccomended by me!

Hello

First off thanks for helping me out on figuring out what to do about my exhaust. After reading and viewing all those pages and threads, I went with the Jardine Cat Exhaust. I just got it installed at lunch. I think it sounds good. Not to loud, not to quiet. I am getting a burnt rubber smell right now, I'm sure it will burn off. Anyone have this problem?

Anyway thanks all for your help.

Cheers

I installed the Jardine Catback on my 2001 2.7l about 2 years ago. The burnt smell is from the insulation in the muffler just burning off the particles, it goes away after a couple days. I love the way mine sounds and I have gotten many compliments from others as to the sound. Between it and my K&N FIPK I noticed a pretty substantial gain in performance. I frequently astonish my friends with V6's how quick my truck is.

I've heard a couple Runners with Jardines and I think they sounded pretty good...I just got my Dynomax muffler installed and it sounds pretty bada$$, not ricey at all. Throaty as at idle too, I like it

Good luck in deciding and post some video/sound clips after you get it installed...

rkid021, check your spare about the burnt rubber I found out the hard way.

My catback was a little too long but I thougt there was enough space between it and my spare. So one day while I'm towing my boat (Interstate + 3.slow = HOT EXAUST) I hear a loud "phsssssssss." The spare had burned thru. (glad I have an extinguisher)

I didn't bother calling PP or Jardine after that minor fire because when I bought it, there was a mount for a second O2 sensor (mine came with only one) and I could never get any help from either of them.

I made the exhaust little shorter and haven't had any problems since then.

Poul, most likely, PP sent you the wrong exhaust system, since they seem prone to that kind of stupidity. I won't buy from them again.

Don't worry! I now use their catalogs as disposable coasters.

Good idea Poul. When they show up at my house, they immediately get thrown into the recycle bin after I leaf thru it to see what new, expensive crap they have for sale.

I thought I would mention to anyone who might come across this thread that www.truckperformance.com sells the Jardine system for $227.99.

Peace.

I've heard Dr.Z's truck and I gotta say that I'm jealous. It's probably the best sounding aftermarket I've heard on our class of rigs.

I have the Jardine system on my 90 4runner. I am using Downey headers and y pipe with high flow cat. Now the Jardine system I recieved I had to cut to fit. But I did all of this in my garage and had no problems making it work. The only problem I had was having to get someone to help me hold it up while mounting it. The system sounds good and was a good investment. I also ordered mine from Performance Products.

I had a jardine on my '99 4runner limited, and I sold it shortly after I bought it. Found it too loud & ricey for my tastes... sounded pretty good outside the truck, but inside while driving, it was this loud, constant droning, that reminded me of friends' Honda's.
I got a TRD exhaust later, and loved the subtle v-8 tone. To each his own, I guess.
