Intake Help!

Hello everyone, I need your help. I purchased the K&n FIPK2 intake kit about a month ago. I did notice a crisper response and throatier growl. However, since the hole in the fender is now open, all I hear is the hissing of air and the growl the K&N gives off is getting old. I miss the quieter days. Are there any intakes that utilize the hole intake hole in the fender? Are there any remedies for a quieter intake. Oh yeah, I did get rid of my stock air box. BIG mistake, I know. Please help. Thanks

Your best bet is to locate another stock box, run an Amsoil filter, and do the elbow mod. Sell your K&N on ebay and come out ahead, in more ways than one.

Ditto on that.....either elbow or deckplate mod would be best.

I'd vote for the ISR mod with the elbow mod. More HP that the K&N and a lot quieter to boot. The ISR mod with the deckplate is way too loud...louder than the K&N! Search for the ISR mod or PM me with any questions on how to do it.

Thanks for your help. How much does a new stock filter box cost?

Yeah, I'm going have to go with them, the stock and an amsoil or trueflow would be way better than and K&N, which actually detunes your performance. too bad you tossed your stock box. but when you get a new one do the IRS mod and its much more response, and loud like your lookin for.

I still have my stock airbox from my 2002, not sure if it will fit your model. I am sticking with my non-stock setup. I like the noise.

If it will fit then I might be pursueded to sell it.

ouch, hope you sold your stock one for a good price. I would have bought it from you. Those things are over $400 from the factory (without the MAF)
