It's also called a step-bit. Unibit is a brand name kind of like kleenex is to tissue.

Here's the back:

Here's the front. Notice the index marks. You get positive feedback as the bit drops down from cutting edge to cutting edge. I've used these extensively for installing alarms and I swear by them. Gives a nice clean hole and won't skate around on you.

Cover has screws and pops off. Needles do not have to come off when installing indiglos

I just purchased some indiglo gauges, hopefully there going to be here sometime next week. How do you install the gauges without removing the needles? I have always wondered that...

You angle them over the needles. The instructions should tell you and show pics. At least the ones I installed were this way

What would happen if you removed the needles?

Not nice VL:

If you pull your needles you'll have to recalibrate everything ie: tach, speedo etc.

Pics

Anybody got some pics with different types of indiglo gauges installed? I'd like to see how they look in reference to the rest of the dash. Thanx in advance.

pfdaxe,

great pix - love the white background with the gray/black interior; a couple of questions: Can you adjust the indiglo like you would the regular dash lighting? I have a tan interior on my Taco. I'm a little concerned that the white background won't look quite right against a tan/black interior. However much I might like the white background, I might have to find one with black. Are all the TRD accessories and info on Toyota's website? Thanx again.

The white is a fix color for the face. At night it changes to either blue or green via a switch. You can also dim the indiglos via a rotary knob which are both included. My gauges were bought from Ebay and I added the TRD decal.

God!
I've created a monster! This thread is getting out of control. Seems to be a popular topic anyway!

indiglo search

Alright, I've done some preliminary searching and I can't find indiglo or reverse indiglo gauges anywhere on the internet !(except e-bay or course - kind of a last resort for me) Where in the hell can I find these things for a 99 Taco.
