Increasing tire width on 4runner

I'm not the smartest cat when it comes down to tire sizes and wheels.
I have a 1999 4Runner on stock Limited wheels with 265/75/16's BFG's. Since I have a Limited, my fenders stick out further than stock thus giving the appearance that my wheels are tucked in. I want to try and stay the same or slightly larger tire size with the exception of the width. Any suggestions to get more width without using spacers?
Tire sizes? pictures of the same set up? etc
Thanks!!!

you can go to a wider tire in millimeter like a 285/75/16 however, that will also increase the outside ttire diameter and the tire will be taller

Assuming you're keeping the rims, you can put 285/70/16...you'll have lower profile but wider footing....

You may have better luck in 275 - 70 R16 for ATs. Still not nearly the selection as 265 75 or 285 75.

Thanks. I do want to keep my stock wheels, unless I can find a cheap set of steelies...

I didnt want to go taller on a tire size, mainly to keep my gear ratio happy and to avoid lower gas mileage (due to current gas prices).

So how much wider would a 275 or 285/75/16 be when compared to my current 265/75/16's ?

Thanks yall...

a 285 will be about 11.2" wide and the 10.4" wide... well mathematically anyways....

the 285 will measure about a 32.8" diameter and the 265 measures 31.6"

ths would be my recommendation for a stock ride. I had teh 275.70. the don't rub and are approx. 31.2x11. almost as wide as a 285, but not as tall.

should cler 285 with a 2"bl
