Looks like you bought a good set of bulbs, and also at a great price too. I'll post some pics of the ones I have, they're from Japan and got them for dirt cheap from a local shop.

Now Mark, that's exactly what I was looking for! That's how they should review all light bulbs if someone was really wanting to sell thehigh power bulbs. I'm very impressed and can easily see that the FX bulbs are as bright, with as much usable light as the stock ones, but the beauty of it is that you lost the yellow light.

Money well spent in my opinion, and thanks a ton for doing such a good comparison.

Chris

These bulbs probably would not go any longer than 6months. I went through at least 10 different sets of halogen bulbs(just in Bluish, superwhite type) but the only ones that will last are the ones that cost more, also for some cars, bulbs will burn out faster than other peoples', there are so many variables as far as the lastisity of Halogen bulbs. i dont know why this is but that's why everyone has totally different opinions. little more than a year ago, I bought PIAA Xtreme whites thinking it'll blow in 1yr. but it still hasnt. about 10months of it my DRL was not disabled so these bulbs worked pretty hard. I've used MANY MANY 15dollar bulbs before. Performance wise, they are just as bright as the other ones but a typical lifespan of these are about3-6months. one of these bulbs actually EXPLODED in headlight housing of my sister's Solara although I was and still am EXTREMELY CAREFUL about not touching the bulbs upon installation. One way to see the quality of bulbs is the hazing of the glass housing. cheap bulbs will start to form spider-web looking cracks. This means the quality of the material is deteriorating, it is not strong enough to withstand the heat the bulb is generating and they will go fairly quickly. I'd say go with the Siverstars if you want White, lights. *Madchemist(David)* has these when we were coming back from wheeling, someone in front of us told me that they look IDENTICAL at night, only i paid almost double for my PIAAs.

Hope this helps. And of course these are coming from my own experience, I might be wrong, I'm just telling you what i've seen and been through.

If I get the silverstars, will I be able to install them directly? Without changing anything else like wireharness or housing or whatever? Also I have the foggy 96' lenses/housing, will it still look good?

Siverstars are just regular bulbs with a hint of blue dye in it. no modification necessary. Just pull out ur old ones and put it in. Ur headlights would look good too, remember all you're doing is slightly changing ur beam color, not a Night and Day difference. and unless you go with the REAL HIDs you will lose overall visability, especially in the rain(I live in Seattle). i hope you have a back up plan such as fog lights...driving lights etc... as funny as it sounds we're actually sacrificing light power to look COOL

Humm.....maybe? I was planning on putting those big lights on my tjm when i get it. Are those normally called fog lights? Or off-road lights? but that probably won't be for another few months. If i get the silverstars do I need fog lights?

no, you dont NEED fogs, i was just suggesting it as an option... and if you use those BIG offroad lights around town, you'd get shot by angry folks with guns
