I have decided on ARB

I just talked with Central 4wd in Kent and I am going to get the ARB bumper. I know there is a hitch with the install but I am going to have them do it. The bumper is much cheaper than the TJM. I am also planning on getting the Daystar spacers .75inches to compensate for the weight of the bumper. I hope to get all this done next week. The only thing I have to figure out is how to mount some fog lights like Jataga did. I will keep you posted.

Corey, if you are not too busy, maybe we could meet at Central 4wd so I could check out your rig before I jump into all of this. I plan on going down there either on Tue 5th or Wed the 6th.
If you have a part # for the 00 tacoma ARB, that would be very helpful.

Got your part #s right here.

They did order you the Taco one right?
That is what ARB is saying to go with now as the "4Runner" one was nothing more than the Prado one, and it does not fit as well as the Taco one.

ARB was looking to make one specifically for the 3rd gen, but it fell through they told me at headquarters in Seattle.

Lemme know which day you are going to be there.
They open up at 9 am.

Did you get Scott to order this up?
He's a great guy to work with.
Got a fantastic deal on my winch from him when I had the bumper put on.

They know my wallet well in there
By the way. That bumper will accept the Warn M8000 and the XD9000 like I have.

Are you going for broke?

If it's the Tacoma bumper like mine, it will also accept an HS9500 winch Overkill city!

TS, since your rig is close to the color of Rob's rig below, your bumper will look pretty much like this on your rig.

Corey,

I am not getting a winch at this time. I did talk to Scott and yes, he was very helpful. He said he did not have to order anything because they had the bumper in stock. I am supposed to drop off the truck and they said they could get everything done in one day. I will confirm with the part # you gave. Thanks for your help !

Corey,
I had another long talk with Scott this am. I told him that I knew you from the Toyota forum and he said that he should have charged me more for my bumper because of that. LOL!!! Anyways, he has one Tacoma bumper per your part # and I got him to hold it for me because I put down a deposit. The only hitch so far is finding a 0.5-1.0" spacer for the front. He is going to look into the Daystar for me but so far he keeps finding only a 2.5" spacer. He is looking to see if a TJ Jeep spacer by Daystar will work. I am not too sure I want to go this route because I know nothing about TJ specs. I think my worst case scenario is just removing my bumper and grill-guard and just adding the ARB with my current OME setup.

solution

I may have just the solution you need. I have some Downey billet aluminum spaers that I cut down to size for my '99 4Runner. I'll get some digitals scanned in for you.

spacers

I just purchased the Doetsch Tech Coil overs and I will not be needing these spacers, or the rubber pieces (I think) anymore. Check out the pics and see if you may be interested in these. I cut the spacers down to .75" and the rubber piece makes it about 1" spacer total. I ran these on top of my Performance Products 1" over stock coils on factory struts for well over a year, and never had a problem. The half shafts never complained and the boots did not show any indication of any wear.

SteveO,

Would you be willing to sell the spacers and if so, how much?

That might be the best way to go for now.
Are you going to maybe change over to the SAW coil overs in the future?

Scott's a cool guy, even though he drives a Jeep

spacers

I would take about 60 bucks plus shipping for the spacers. I would keep the rubber parts in the pictures (because You already have a set on your current setup), and I may need them with the Doetsch Tech setup (I'm not sure).

sweet im gettin one of those too. no winch for me either, yet. im hoping it wont sag the front too much cause i won't be getting a lift any time soon. my dad was fine with it but my mom says its "too dangerous" it took me forever to find an ARB. how much are you paying for yours? acually, are you in washington? if you are we might be getting our bumpers from the same place except a guy from a local preformance shop ordered mine. he said he called the head of ARB in the US but maybe he just called central4wd. i dunno.

well i hope it looks good!!!!
