I got the black uglies (rims) -- pix.

I think it looks good with black wheels, but like so many others have said, paint the flares and get your bumper painted if you can't get a TJM.
The one thing I am noticing is that the truck looks out of place! You have a sweet rig, but all of your pics have it sitting on flat ground and clean. My suggestion is take it out, get it dirty and then take some pics. I think it'll look a little better in it's proper environment!
Nice rig again!

I guess you could also have them anodized, but I am not sure how much that would be.
I am not picking on your post Steve, I am simply using it to convey the difficulties I ran into when painting my wheels so others could see.

nice 4runner...tire/wheel combo looks good against the white 4runner. I agree, with a tjm/arb or custom front and rear bumpers with some BLACK LUG NUTS it would lick sick....
keep up the good work..

I didn't like my new black Rockcrawler wheels until I washed and waxed my 4Runner, then polished the tires. Something about the dirty brownish-looking tires right after they installed the wheels made the wheels initially unappealing to me.

You guys cant tell from the pix, but, I just have some open lugs on there. So, its not chrome you are seeing, its actually the wheel STUDS.
I have the bolt on 1/2" marlin spacers .. and the studs are so long I couldnt find a lug that would fit over them and tighten the wheel properly.
Anyways, so you can basically sand the crap out of the bumper, clean it up and use some automotive SPRAY paint? Taking it to a body shop to get painted sounds like a hell of a time. I actually have a paint thing for my Air compressor, maybe that would be good?
02Runner: Ive only had time to wheel it a few times since I've gotten it. There aren't any trails around here. The only place is hollister and its still quite a drive. I basically have been working on it for Baja trips. I go on a lot of surf trips with my dad... We actually drive on about 50 miles of the road the Baja 1000 is driven on ... it gets progressively worse from the guys tearing the road up. BTW-- When we first started going to one of these spots the roads were pretty nice, but ,now there are loose rocks, ruts and gnarly crap caused by the race!!!
Here is a cool picture I took last year of the terrain, its a beautiful place!

I bet most of you guys rotate your tires yourself, so just get a can of flat black and put your rig up on jack stands, impact all of the nuts off..paint em...let em dry in the sun for a little while and put em back on when you rotate. Might have to do it everytime you rotate, but it only takes a few minutes. I usually paint the undercarriage with flat black every 3 months or so anyways. Oh yeah, one more thing... you can get dirt cheap black steelies without the red & blue stripes at summitracing.com. They are Cragar's and I got mine 3 days after I ordered them. 7$ shipping for all 4. enough pimping im done

lol, this thread is exactly a year old.
Yeah, speaking of the Cragars, my buddy just bought some for his Heep. They were $200 for all four... 16x8's . Im going that route once I get some extra money.

looks like you went ahead, and painted the fender flares black along with the bumpers.. I like the color scheme you got going on...
also; thanks again for your suggestions, and prompt response to my emails
..you rock!

Here's my take on it bro.... *IMHO
Ill attach a pic of mine, but what I think you need to do is break up the silver with more black. My 96 is the same color and what helped it a lot is that long black bug shield on the front face like yours. I figure that and a nice black rack/basket on the roof, or one of those TMJ bumpers like Lee's and your black set up will even out very nicely. It's just right now your tires really stand out because of the color of the body.
Hope that makes sense to you.
Drew
**EDIT: you know those new guys that respond to threads that are like over a month old and the 1st response is like, light years away from what the last response was? Yea, so I just did that. (noob)
