Don't get me wrong but the dealer is just as likely to pull that line as anyone else. In fact i have seen it more from the dealer than other places.

That is why i have a mecanic i like and trust and have stayed with him for 20 years.

Just do the trip before you get the T-belt fixed. You will be fine. I had a 102K on mine when I got it done I could probably have waited further.
I have seen prices from $400-600 for the job. Just researh the place that is going to do the job if you can (AAA recommended, BBB, online comments etc)

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the timing belt... just do it after the trip.

To our defenses.... Yes there are some dealers who might try that, but there are others that are actually honest. The shop rate varies big time depending on where you live, how busy the shop is, the competition, number of certified techs and so on. The fact you take it to a dealer is a good idea if they keep your work on file. My dealership keeps EVERYTHING on file, they copy our ROs and the tech's write up on the same ticket so that if something were to come back we are either covered or back flagged depending on what caused the returned vehicle.

First off..........I would not REALLY worry at 90,000 BUT I'd save some more money and Do the belts, hoses, waterpump and the timing belt together.
That 250.00 estimate sounds like a phone call waiting to happen.
You know .......the one where the tech says its alot more labor than they first estimated.
I think the belt alone is 80.00 So how can the bill be 250.00?
Thats like 3hrs labor??
