I did a little searching and didn't see anything. I want mount two Hella 500's on a TJM when I get one, just not sure how they mount. Are there seperate brackets I have to buy or do they just drill right into the bumper? Thanks.

 

Depends on which TJM you get. The T-15 has tabs in the hoop to accomodate lights up to 8" in diameter. The T-17 has holes pre-drilled in it. Since there's no hoop on the T-17, the sky the limit with light diameter.

 

I'm looking at the 15, I'm still confused how to mount them though...

 

The bumpers come with holes pre-drilled in them for you to mount lights. Most aux lights (at least all the ones I've worked with) come with a bolt on the bottom (kind of like a mounting post). Fit the bold down through the hole in the bumper and screw the nut onto the post. Done.

I guess I'm confused as to how you can be confused. If you want to mount something that uses a special brace/bracket as opposed to the bolt post type setup, then some custom work might need to be done. But the 500s use the bolt post type deal, so mounting them is a breeze.

 

Thanks Jack. I didn't realize the bumper came with pre-drilled holes, that makes things so much easier. So I just slide the bolt through, and come through the bottom with the nut and tighten it down?

There are little tabs that are welded to the hoops that allow you to mount lights. Just get the bumper, and it seriously is a no brainer.

 

Im wanting to get a TJM T-15 bumper but im afraid of the sagging, so ive been thinking of a new suspension, but is there a easier way to deal with it, say new or stronger coilovers in the front??

 

you are asking if a new suspension or new coilovers are easier?

Go big or go home

 

in a nutshell, the stiffer the springs, the less likely they are to sag (or perhaps, the longer it will take for them to sag). If you go with adjustable coilovers, you can adjust them to compensate for the sag, as long as they don't sag tooooo much.

 

Not sure what kind of rig you've got, but I've running a T-15 on stock suspension for a couple years now w/ no problem (97 4rnr). I *want* to replace the suspension, but I don't *need* to. Got a lot more problem with tail-draggin' then anything on the front!

Unless you're feeling the need to spend lots of $$$ at once, get the bumper, then worry about the suspension after you've had it for a while.

YMMV on different vehicles, of course.

 

You can always add a cheap front spacer if the front starts to sag a bit. That should hold you over until you want to start lifting. Then, if you have the coin (while lifting) get the adjustables.
