111,500 on my 1999 SR5, runs like a tank! No problems

I think $4,000 for a 2nd gen with 386,000 is too much; even for a nice one owner truck, just my .02. I like to see 4runners hold value though.

I have 305,000 on my '98 4Runner SR5. I've had no major issues at all. I've spent some time and money tracking down several issues, but part was my fault.

I had warped rotors that two separate turnings failed to fix and am in the middle of a suspension problem. Once I found out the problem, it was a quick and easy replacement fix. I didn't install the shock bushings on my front shocks, apparently, and it's collapsed both bushings, plus it wore an oval shape into the strut mount. This is a quick and inexpensive fix to be done tonight.

Otherwise, I am completely happy with my 305k+ miles. They are excellent vehicles.

140k

140k miles on my '01 SR5. Only major issue so far is replacing the radiator due to milkshake. Bought it 9 months ago, and I don't think the previous owner had any major issues. Other than that, I am mostly starting to consider replacing or sanding/painting rusty parts (e.g., replacing rusty bolts and pipes, sanding/painting rear diff). It is troubling how rusty the diff gets. I also need to replace the spare tire - it is so rusty that it won't hold air and it looks very fragile.

If you had the milkshake, you might as well start socking money away, because your tranny isn't likely to make it much longer.

Mine has had it's issues. First off at 170,000 the transfer case decided to self distruct, and then I had a clutch break the the finger springs off, and then I had a valve issue, and fuel injector fail at the same time, recently I broke a lower ball joint and the driver side front tire/ steering knuckle fall off In 4lo thank god. And now a rear axle seal this week. Ugh!!!

1998 4runner 178k now got it a few Ks ago. Put TB, TPS, Water pump, Thermostat, tensoner pulley and NO engine noise what so ever...
5spI got 20.5 hwy and 18.5 mixxed use with 265x75x16 and stock gearing, Im pretty excited.
I gave up my 03 landrover disco with 55k miles for this and cash as Ill be running between Boise and Socal ever month and all over down there. Never had an issue with the disco but I trust this vehicle in the middle of nowhere for easy parts and reliability over the disco....

200,194 as of today on my '01 SR5. NO major problems. Normal maintenance only. I want to go to at least 350K.

FSM calls for 90K miles timing belt intervals. SO, you are about due. I also think some others have gone over 200K without a change. IF the belt breaks, it won't hurt anything, but you won't be driving it, you will be riding in the tow truck.

Coming up on 300K and 7000 hours on my 01 4runner and all is still good. The only thing I'm having to replace is the fan/pulley bushing bracket.

I wish I could get half of this reliability out of my 2006 Jeep TJ. I swear it must have been built on a Monday or Friday.

I just had mine done at the dealer a few weeks ago. It had 198K on it and I think the original owner never replaced it. I decided to get it done before it broke. To replace the timing belt, tensioners, water pump, all drive belts it was $680 ( I prefer the dealer for this service). I also had the tranny fully flushed for $150. Hope this helps.
