Got my 2'' body lift in the mail today and was wondering on some install times. Well actually its at my parents house so i havent seem the kit yet, but am planning on the install tomorrow. Just wanted a general idea of difficulty and time for the install. appreciate some info. thanks

On my 97, it took a little over 2 hours. The hardest part was the steering extension, we actually had to use a 2'+ extension to get the damn thing off.

Once the old bolts are out and the body is up, it's just a matter of poppping in the spacers and tightening. SUPER EASY.

Shouldn't take you more than a lazy Saturday afternoon unless you hit some snafus. Spray everything down with PB or WD40 the night before and make your life easier and start on a cold engine, as that makes it easier to maneuver around the hot exhaust and makes work cooler. I did mine in under 3 hours, but we were shooting the bull while we were at it. Your 93 might be a bit different than my 00 was, but same principle.

Wish you guys lived close to me. Me and my dad have already put about three hours in on this kit and i'd say we're just over halfway done. didnt know we needed to weld for the kit either and the directions could really use some pics. i got the performance accesories 2'' lift. any quick tips for a first timer at body lifts. takin a break till tomorrow

I hit snafus yesterday. Did the RB 1" I hit 5 hours

The pucks were no problem at all, total breeze. Did have to use some washers that I luckily had on hand for all the bolt heads that came with the kit (and the washers did not). While I have Airtools, I just used a regular ratchet for all the nuts and bolts.

Turns out, My 99 bumper, is set up like a 2000. Bad to find that out after the hardware stores close for the evening and following holiday (ugggh). Had to drill some holes and take the Air Grinder to the two brackets to clear the factory bolt heads since the allen head short screws were the wrong thread pitch. I measured 10 times and cut once, which sank most of the additional time.

Then the bumper was fighting me, but no big whoop after I got some cardboard boxes.

Took me about 4 hours to get the spacers and bumper plates in. Another 2 hour just to get the steering extention in. gapguy is right, use the longest extentions you've got on your socket set.

well i finished and i would love to see all of you at work who said they could do it in 3 or 4 hours. id say it took me and my dad at least 6 hours over the last two days. the spacers are cake to do, but the bumper adapting, steering extension, and especially the shift lever extensions all really added to the time. i couldnt wait for it to be done i was so tired of working. i think it looks and rides great after the install, but if i had it to do all over again i might have just passed.

I worked for 3 days when me and my dad did mine. The bumper took a LOT of time because of griding and modding. Also I re fabbed my drawtite hitch and my pushbar brackets so they would work with the body lift. To top it all off I broke a wheel stud off when putting on the new tires and wheels. That took another couple of hours to fix. I've been happy with the lift since then though.

hey quick question has anyone else noticed more little noises from their vehicle after a body lift. seems like i keep hearing lots of new noises. also seems like i notice a little shake in my runner when i start it up now? any info would be appreciated.

Took me two evenings to do mine. But with a pickup, I was able to do the cab one night and the bed the next. Something you cannot do with a 4Runner. Kinda looked a little silly going to work the day in between though.

Not sure if I can compare the two gen's but.....When I first did my lift I did get a little shake/stumble when starting-that stopped now). Also, my 4wd shifter makes an annoying squeek sometimes. I'm thinking the shake was the fan- because it hit and tore off the shroud the first time I started it.

Overall, my 4runner shakes like a bucket of pennies..but then again, it always has!

Can someone post a pic of the gap a body lift creates. I'm really wanting a body lift, but I absolutely hate that gap I always see on other trucks.

A gap where? Bumper brackets move the OEM bumper up and everything else comes up with the body? What gap?
