I like you custom box. I wish I could slim down that much.

I have a Ex-cab Taco with a shelf in the Ex-cab, and rubber maid tubs for the ?need often? stuff. I built an expanded metal cage in the front of my truck bed for ?don?t need often? stuff.

Skrillah, I totally stole your box idea, and built my own the other day. I should have practiced by making a birdhouse first, it looks pretty bad. Anyway, I have two questions:

1. Where do I find that thin carpet to cover it with?
2. What do you use to secure it? I have some warped rotors and mine shakes like dancers in a rap video!

Edit: whats up with the search function not finding this thread? You can copy and paste the title in the search menu, and it won't get it. I had to look through all the topics myself!

I have a craftsman toolbox with 4 drawers filled with 3 drive socket sizes (metric/standard 6-point/12-point regular/deep socket), lots of wrenches, various pliers and screwdrivers and such. i dont have it in my truck however because its in a plastic box and everything rattles like no other. i havent faced the issue of bringing it with me yet...

i've got husky liners and my snap-on carry box. just 3/8ths drive metric 12 point, deep and shallow, and metric wrenches, and pliers. they're noisy, but the first time i have an issue, they'll be music to my ears.

I'm surprised to see the thread still getting hits...I lost it until now!

I thought I'd post one more pic to give you another perspective...I still haven't quite figured out how to keep my tools to quit rattling around in there. They are just kind of laying in there so any bump you hit all you hear is metal clanging together. Annoying...

you could put a lot of rubber lining in there or "ripple" a rubber sheet so that each tool is under or on top of i, alternatingly. would be real annoying to get things out and put back in though...
