How to do a deckplate mod

Ok, I have searched, and found nothing on exactly what it is and what it does.. i read people talkign about how you have to reset your ecu? i thought your just cutting a hole in the side of your intake? Can anyone explain this to me and how to do it etc, because I have no clue... Thanks

1. Cut the hole in front of the airbox.
2. Pull out the efi fuse which is typically a 15-20amp fuse in the fusebox.

take your pick..

basically the deckplate part is cutting a hole in your airbox. but when you do anything performance related to your truck, you need to reset the ECU. Just pull the negative battery cable and leave it disconnected for a while...

when i did mine, all i did was remove the airtube that runs from behind the headlight into the box (automatically making a 3in hole), then i drilled holes in the bottom of the airbox just incase water gets in, it has a way to get out. plopped in a k&n airfilter, and disconnected the battery. i can tell a difference with cold temps obviously and it makes a little rumble, sounds like a 5 cylinder!
