Hoodscoop Hood Source?
My bro wants a new hood for his 97 since the bumps would not come out and there were some scratches that should be redone. As long as he had it off and was replacing it, he thought getting one with a scoop would be cooler.
Where is the best source for scooped hoods? How much should a guy pay?

Honestly, I would buy one on the net. I know more than a few guys who did and when they ship these things, they never arrive in perfect condition. I know a guy who had to get a total of 3 hoods, because they all came in bent. Get it from your dealer and shop around in your area, have it painted and installed by the head body shop guy and then it will be warrantied.

Parts are at least another $150-200 for those.

PM bamachem
Bamachem just swapped out his crashed hood for a new scooped one several months ago. He got all the parts from the dealer and painted it himself and it looks real good and definitely adds to the looks of the vehicle. PM him and he can give you a parts list of what you need and what you can reuse off your current hood. Paint is going to run you about $350, quotes around here for an OEM job, unless you do it yourself or have a friend who paints!

Hood was ~$300 from the dealer. Plan on another $140 for the other "stuff". Just the "bulge" is $110 (plastic piece that fills the hole in the metal hood). You only NEED the following in addition to the hood:
nuts (4) 90179-06324
cushions (4) 90540-05028
rivets (2) 90269-04054
bulge 76181-35901
guide 76182-35020
plate 76192-35010
nuts (4) 90179-06324
cushions (4) 90540-05028
rivets (2) 90269-04054
bulge 76181-35901
