Tell them you want a before and after dyno of the increase. I would be thoroughly amazed at a 33% increase in HP just from porting. Sounds like bunk to me.

Is it a good buy? You didnt say how much. So how much do they want?

I thought their porting was worth something like 7 HP and their cams about 10 HP. You'd need both of those to get more than 10% increase. The cams might help though - I think it moves the power band into the lower RPMs which is very useful for our vehicles. I think you'd get similar increases from headers and a good exhaust and you don't have to crack the engine open.

33% eh...lol..Ya right. Well. If you just add a TRD sticker you gain from what i hear 5 horses.
I believe what they are probably refering to is 33% heresay hp gain.

Maybe this is what teddy meant:

As quoted by 4 the hard way:

Obnoxio: I'm running the original 33k mile 3.0 V6 with DOA cams, port and polished heads and 3mm oversized t-body...along with Downey headers it's probably right around 200hp.
That's the only way I can see anything close to a 33% increase. I dont even want to know how much that ran him.

None of DOA's stuff is cheap. Is he saying he got his engine fromt hem too? Wow - that cost a pretty penny if he did. So if he has 200 HP how much torque does he have? What RPM range does he have this power - would be useless to peak above 3500 RPM.

I messed up it was 33 hp gain instead of 33% but really whats the diff.

I think a good upgrade to this engine would be a V-8 swap.

I HIGHLY doubt you can get 33hp from their cylinder heads. For almost $1000, that is rediculous anyway. For 2.5k you could have a supra turbo swap done FOR you. That would be around 260hp no mods.
