Hi!
I just wanted to say "Hey" and thanks to Matt (LSUMatt1514) and Jason (Jason B) for the invite. I hope to be a useful member and have a good time here.
I see that my mod has made it's way over here. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...&threadid=2549 I hope you find it helpful and interesting. I would like to see some others try it to see what their experience is with it. It would be nice to see for certain that I'm not smoking crack.
Seriously though, I went to school in California at Sequoia Institute for Automotive Mechanics way back in the mid-80's and used to wrench on cars for a living. If I thought I was going to do anything to harm my engine, or make it perform worse for that matter, I certainly wouldn't urge other people to do the same.
Anyway, take the mod for what it's worth: My opinion and experience. Until you try it yourself, that is. Then come back and tell everyone how much it rocks! LOL
Nice to meet you all and thanks again to Matt and Jason.

hey and welcome. sounds like maybe your idea does work, but i dont know. i have a taco anyways, so it doesn't matter to me.
this is a good, friendly place, glad you found it. uhhmm.. you should go to a dyno and see if removing your silencer helped, it would be interesting... also a good way to tell if you are smoking crack or not

Doc Z:
Great idea! But seriously, the proof is in the numbers---any dyno testing in your immediate plans?
Also, you've made it to a friendlier place. Hang out here awhile. Your expertise would be greatly appreciated here.

Hey Doc,
Welcome to the board. It's a great place we have here. Everyone rocks and is realyl friendly and ready to help at the drop of a dime. I know your expertise will be a great addition to our forum and I look forward to hearing your view on alot of the topics we have here and I really would like to get your input when I go to do thing in the future to my Runner.
As soon as I get over the broke feeling (after lift syndrome) I will definatley give your mod a try. Once again welcome and be sure to stick around.

Thanks for the Welcome!
Hello to all and thanks for the welome!
To JA about the Archiving, sounds good to me. Lemme know what you need from me. To those interested in me Dyno'ing the mod, I am checking into pricing and such. I'll let you know. I would definitely like to dyno my truck as I it would be nice to provide some hard numbers for everyone.
I'd probably make 4 Runs:
1. Stock intake
2. DeckPlate Removed only
3. Silencer Removed, Elbow Removed, DeckPlate Closed
4. Silencer Removed, DeckPlate Removed, Elbow In Place
That is not quite the evolution of my intake, but it's close enough. It would show the differences at least between what most people have done versus what I am currently running.
Peace!

) They stock both the TRD and the AFE. The filters are identical, except for the TRD Logo. Whoop-Dee-Fricken-Doo.
The AFE was also about $25 less than the TRD.
