Don't even bother trying. Its like those firends that people have who like fat chicks. Try as you might to understand it, and tell them its not worth it, and that there is better stuff to spend you money on, they just don't listen. But at least you dont need to buy 15$ specialty lube for a fat chick. ha!

Seriously...15$ for an ounce of dielectric grease?

for real, you can get that at the parts store for a few bucks

I would stick with the stock ignition and go with some factory replacement plug wires

MSD... well if thats what you like. Seriously take a minute to really think about it. Why not go with Toyota OEM parts? They are dependable and you know what you are getting. I do question you about the exhaust... did you say your running it straight from the header? How do you plan on getting it to run correctly with out all the 02 sensors?

I am going to rig up a circut that will fool the 2nd sensor into thinking everything is fine, and i heard that someone made a plug in that would hook up to the 2nd sensor and do that, i think URD?

depending on the condition and mileage of the motor i would change out the water pump, steering pump, timing belt, all other belts, and plugs.

after, it would be intake, headers, exhaust, electric fan

and lastly, straight pipes dont work out all that well on a 3.4. sure, you can fool the 02 sensors (good luck), but what kind of backpressure are you gonna have on the engine so it can make power? i dont see any forged internals going in, a supercharger, or much else in the way of engine mods, so your gonna want all the backpressure you can get

once again i would check into what is going to be needed in order for you to run the straight pipes you are wanting. I believe its going to be more of an issue than you are planning. Go ahead and do it right and by a good cat back system.

The water pump would be a great idea, the timing belt is a must when a new engine or vehicle is bought anyway cause you never know. Intake wise i have bought a TRD filter to go in the box, the headers i am going to order and the exhaust will work fine, i know a few people running similar set-ups. But i'll post my own exp. when i get it done.
As for this whole backpressure thing, i don't subscribe to the theory. Not saying it doesn't need alittle bit but i've encounterd no issues with my 3VZE.

I have not run a CAT and muffler in over a year now, i don't think i'll ever go back.

you do understand there is no replacement for displacement right? a big high output v8 makes a lot more power at lower rpms than a v6 that likes to rev to the moon.

a v6 builds its power at a much higher rpm...you knowing that because you had the toyota 3.0 where the powerband starts about 2800 - 3000 rpm. to get to that powerband faster the engine needs to suck in a whole lot of air...but if you have all that air coming out just as fast as its going in there goes all your low end power. there is no theory to "subscribe" to.

i work on ford 4.0 sohc and ohv motors for a living...lower displacement, high revving v6's. with purely bolt on mods to the engine, you want the most backpressure you can get to build to a higher speeds faster
