doug thorley is coming out with a 2.7L header http://www.thorleyheaders.com/toyota_start.html
teamed with the jardine cat back, i am hoping to see some kickass performance gains. cant say when they will put it to market though, they have shown it on the website for several months now, but when i call, they say "a couple more months"
i am just saving dough until they get to market, will report back whenever that happens-

thorley headers
Hey guys.
I have a preview of the new Thorley line of headers. I will start it off with the 88-95 22R stuff. It will be part number THY-504/504-4
Specs; 3/8" thick flange, 14 guage mild steel tubing, hardware and gaskets included, lifetime warranty, chrome standard, ceramic available, ball and socket collector, 1 1/2" tubing, 2 1/2" collector, 50 STATE CARB APPROVAL!!!!

seems to me that you want more power and good sound. If you are going to make it flow out better you might as well make it flow in better too. I wouldnt recomend a RFI if you play much in mud or water but they are awsome if you like deserts or dry rocks. but definately something that flows in better and elimanates the silencer adds a few HP and adds alot to a good sound. I havent played around with hedders yet though.

New header confirmed!!!
Although this may be in the wrong forum, we have confimed a new header from Doug Thorley headers soon! For all you 4.7L Toyota owners that are in dire need of a "pick-me-up" for your sleeping under-hood beast, we have your answer and it will have a sub $1,000 price tag unlike the TRD version!!!!
