Hi All,

This ? has probably been asked before. I have a 964Runner auto/2wd. Got overheated now it's blowing white smoke. I'm sure the HG are blown. My questions is who sells a HG kit for 96+? What else do I need (timing belt+water pump done recently) to tackle this project. Should I just fork out $1900 to have a shop do it?

there was a service recall about this. call the dealership and give them ur vin to see if its been done

 

There was a service recall but it may have ended. Call the dealer anyway and see if they will do it. I am curious to see if they will.

Failing in that, the parts are only available from the dealer as far as I know (chime in if you have a better place). There are also various sites online that sell OEM dealer parts for Toyotas.
