Has anyone heard anything or had any first hand experience with Liquid Glass? I have been using Rain X wax with pretty decent results. I want something that lasts a lot longer. I searched for reviews of Nu Finish but the reviews said it didn;t last too long. This seems to have excellent results...although a bit pricey.

The best stuff you can use is Zanio Brothers Polish. It is just that simple.

I used that all the time when I lived in Hawaii. Worked great until I moved to Arizona. Just doesn't last as long in extreme heat. Haven't had much other experiences with wax to say what works better than others, but it did a great job and lasted quite a bit longer than regular wax as far as water beading goes.

A friend of mine in high school used to use that stuff. He had a red car and it did make it shine, but from what I remember there was a whole lot of elbow grease involved. I still recommend Zaino. It's easy on, easy off, and the results are amazing.

I read that Zaino is good too but it just isn't as readily available. Liquid glass can be found at autozone or pepboys. The thing that turned me onto Rain X was because it supposedly has UV blockers...as does liquid glass. BAsed on the reviews, the only PITA is prepping the paint. Since I clayed it just a little bit ago, I'll just strip the wax that's on there now with dishwashing soap and hopefully that'll be good enough.

Since I have had my 4Runner for the past year, the paint has suffered. I have not cared for it as I should. I have my share of pin-striping, but because I park under a eucalyptus tree, I was getting stains from the tree fallout.

I read you thread, and the review link, yesterday and went out and bought some of the Liquid Glass. I needed a lot of prep. I washed, used Meguires deep cleaner to remove the staining, clay-bared the car with the Mother's Kit (I already had all these products), then washed the car again with Palmolive to remove the spray on detail I used with the clay bar, then used the Liquid Glass. After four hours of baking in the sun, I re-coated the truck. Total time on the truck 4 hours (not counting the baking period). I love how it looks, but I am really concerned with the protection and ease of cleaning I hope Liquid Glass will provide.

The thing really looks great and is so smooth with all the prep and polishing. My Fender Flares never reflected like that before.

I have used Liquid Glass for 24 years. If you break a sweat putting it on or taking it off, you are doing something wrong! You can put it on in direct sunlight and not worry about it never coming off. I love it. I do like it on rigs with clear coats better. It will definitely last longer.

Hey George (skyrat),that looks nice. I'm gonna get me some liquid glass later today. Did you buff it off before letting it bake in the sun? What about before the second coat? I just used rain x wax less than a month ago. Will dishwashing soap really do a good job of stripping the wax off?-thanks

Yes, I just followed directions. After all the prep, just use straight long strokes to apply. I did the whole car, then wiped off the haze (not hard buffing, but if you put a ton on it might be). Directions say you must wait 4 hours before applying a second coat.


I wouldn't know, I didn't have any wax on mine. Though most say that dishsoap will remove wax. If you are unsure you could use a cleaner that is made for removing wax.

I've always used Meguairs.



Now they just came out with NXT sythetic wax. It's getting raves reviews right now. Walmart, $13. I've used it on two cars and it looks great!

Hey SkyRat looks great!
Is that a 1950ish Chevy in the background? 1951 Chevy PU 3spd on the tree was what I learned to drive manual on. Spent alot of time in that old PU during my HS years.
