Hand throttle
I have read about these before being usefull to keep the RPMs up when winching.
Has anyone ever put one on?
Saw this on Slee's site.
I wonder if it will work on other Toys as well.

I just think it's awesome that it's a "Toyota OEM hand throttle".
To the casual observer it would appear to be a secondary cigarette lighter. :pat:
I dunno though, I think I would spend my money on other stuff...and just keep using my OEM foot throttle...hehe...

Hey there Corey!! I dont know... looks VERY similar to the hand throttle I had in my 1974 Landcruiser. That was factory AND a life saver.
Along a similar line.... the rigs we run @ work all have a high idle sw. hooked up to the e-brake. Set the pedal, and the r's jump about 1k. The rigs are Fords, but the switches are installed by the co. that builds our ambulances. I dont know anymore about them, but I can ask, if youre interested.
BTW, you've got mail.

Many of our Toys have factory hand throttles fitted.
These are the correct ones for Toys and I sent these 5 to guys in the US. I think at the time they cost about $US32ea including postage. The 3 in the middle are for 2 generations.

The handthrottle cable is already hooked up to small bracket that is welded to the existing throttle lever as its a complete gas pedal replacement. Its just a case of hooking your normal cable into the hole on the top and bolting the base plate to the floor as per normal.
Turn the knob clockwise to increase RPM and hold etc.
The actual cable knob on our Toys goes in a predrilled hole in a dash indent same as this 1 generation. A plastic plug is in those with no handthrottle. Must be the same over your way as the guys that got them put them in the same location. I removed this one after I took the pic, LOL.
