Question Half shafts Playing around!

I just hoped on the old creeper and went about inspecting the under belly of the old girl. I noticed play in both half shafts. What should I do to fix them? I am guessing they should not have play in them. Also if I need to replace them. what will it cost me in parts?

what do you mean by play? there is supposed to be a little bit, just as the rear driveshaft turns a little bit when parked, not much, but still some

If I hold the shaft and then push in towrds the Diff it moves. Also if I push up and pull down it moves. I fuigerd it should turn like the drive line but all the other play is bothering me.

are they poping when you turn, or leaking grease?

well the way the inside of the cv works, there must be a little play as there are basically flexible joints....., much like the wobbly of a socket set
