Grumbling noise from 4 wheel drive high 2000 Toyota 4 runner
My 4runner front right axle I think is grinding....has a grumbling type noise when in 4wheel drive high. It doesn't make noise when in 4 low or 2 wheel. It is kind of a grinding but not loud more of a growlish type of noise. I can feel it slightly shutter when driving in 4 high.
Anyone have any quick suggestions? I think this is something that I am going to have to take in. It happened after a rough situation of getting stuck with chains.......but in 4 low of course. Otherwise just been having fun in the snow at 4 high for about 4 trips pushing snow with the bumper.

Yesterday the 4heel drive high did not make any noise? What the Heck........I guess it could have something to do with built up snow that was in the front end. I know sometimes snow freezes in the tire and it wobbles when up to speed sometimes, especially when temps are at 5-10 degrees at night. But it sounded like the axle I thought. I will be checking it today and try and figure it out.
