Grill-mounted High-beams finished

I posted another thread similar to this yesterday but now I can't find it. I wonder if it got deleted.

Anyways, I finished cutting my grill and installed the Hella 90mm high-beam modules. I like it!

I plan on replacing the PIAA 60XTs with a pair of Hella 90mm fogs. I like the idea of having all the lighting I need but keeping a somewhat sleek appearance.

I want to get the holes drilled and the fogs mounted and a HID kit installed before I show a pic with all of them on. Then the whole project will be absolutely 100% finished.

I knocked out the holes with a 3 5/8" (92mm) hole saw. Then I had to use my Dremel to cut material away to accomodate the light brackets. I smoothed everything out with a pneumatic rotary tool and sanding stone.

All totalled (not including paint), it took about 3 hours. And both lamps can be aimed independently. The only drawback is that the aiming screws interfere with my aftermarket horns. So, I need to relocate them.

I had a pair of PIAA 001x Solitaires mounted in them awhile back.

Unfortunately, when I went to install the TJM bumper, I discovered the frame was bent. So, I took my truck to a frame shop where they straightened the frame but bent the sh** out of my trim pieces/light housings. After that, they didn't hand right and they rattled. So, I removed them. I gave the PIAA lights to my dad to mount on his truck. He was sad to see that because he did most of the work on the trim pieces in his shop. I've been toying with pieces of metal and sketches to create replacements. Some ideas have included modifying the TJM turn signal to fit under the headlight assembly and then putting a pair of fog or driving lamps in the turn signal bays on the TJM. After having the grill out to put these high-beams in, I figured I would shape a couple of pieces of metal to resemble the old trim and then affix them to the grill. If I decide on that route, I may find some way to incorporate a small pair of driving lamps to act as cornering lamps. I've already figured out how to wire them. I just to figure out if it's something I really want to do.

Those trim pieces that go below the head lights are like $20 bucks a pop at the dealer. I just bought a set today. Also, what year is your grill?

It might be from a '99-'00. Honestly, I bought it 4 or 5 years ago and I honestly don't remember what year it was from. I do know that the parking lamps are from a '99 owned by a member of this forum. Though I don't remember which member. The taillights were purchased brand new for an '02.

Ah, gotcha.

What vehicle are those Hella fogs from? They way you put them in the grill is really starting to grow on me!
