got muddy water into the cab a bit....any tips on how to clean it?

went wheeling yesterday and came TRIED to go through a relatively small hole only to find out the end had been cleaned out by 100inch tires( exagerating of course) needless to say my runner was half way in the whole for a min or two and the seals leaked a bit and need help cleanin it up.

What hae you guys done to clean up your runner when it happened to you?

I used this stuff in a can called Woolite heavy duty once... but it wasn't THAT much mud. It was just a BUNCH of muddy paw prints from my dog.

Erm, I had my carpets cleaned once and they kind of watered them, put soap on, scrubbed, watered then used a shop vac and sucked the water out then watered it again THEN sucked it out and turned the heat on in the car...

Maybe take it somewhere? Maybe the Woolite will work. ^-^

Use a pressure washer to get most of it out, while using a wet vac to suck up the water at the same time so it doesnt get every where. That should get most of the mud up, and dont forget to leave you windows down or your doors open for a few days.

I agree with the presure washer idea & shop vac. A hose with a good spray nozzle wiould work if you don't have access to a pressure washer. A second set of hands to help would make things a lot easier. I always bribe my nephew to clean mine.

to clean it properly, I'd take out the seats, remove the floor moulding and pull up the carpet, clean the interior and reinstall. the water getting under the carpet can cause more problems in the future. I've pulled up my carpet several times now, the rear carpet is a bit harder, because of the side panels...

anyway, its much easier to clean the carpet with a garden hose on the driveway. then hang it up to dry, just about anywhere in the us at the moment is hot enough to dry it in an hour.

i am greatfull of that for sure and to my surprise, NOTHING was in the air box at all...wierd.

The source of the majority of the water was the vent in the rear cargo area. gotta find a fix for that one as i dont want to happen AGAIN!!

and the shot that says it all...

heres the progress so far....mats and rear cargo carpet are out, cleaned and now drying.

damn that sucks

i was gonna sugjest going to home depot and renting one of those carpet cleaners... then going into the carpet and cleaning area and getting the oxy clean stuff that comes in 2 seperate cans that are like attached at the top. Spray that stuff over the carpe,t then use the carpet cleaner to rinse and suck up all the water.

u got the same amp wiring kit as me too. i got 2 12" subs and a 500 watt amp though.

UPDATE:!
well i have all the carpet for the front cabin out. i had no idea that it was one piece and was frustrated in removing the center consol so i took the cup holder out and cut the carpet in half under there. SO MUCH EASIER! so i pulled the body plugs, filled a bucket with HOT water and a scrub brush and went to town. just have to re-whipe it down tomorrow with some cleaner and fresh water to get any residue out. (got dark on me)
took the whole section to the car wash and sprayed it down. the entire front "insulation" on both the driver and passenger sides was coated in mud so i HAD to spray them down. The carpet is dripping dry now and in the am i will suck out the left over water from the insulation and the carpet.
ill get pics also of the interior now and after i get it all finished. I HOPE THIS NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN!!! thanks all for the advise and support!

it is a sinch to remove it. only thing you have to do is remove the seats, there just 4 bolts (14mm) for the front and 2 (12mm) for each back seat. pop the kick panels, remove the trim pieces that run along the door and start pulling it out. The only thing i did was cut it as i said in a few post up under where the cup holder is because it was frustrating me to remove the console so i cut it! everything is back in and all i did was wet it with a firehose (work) sucked it out with a shop vac and hung it out in the sun ALL day! Looks sooo good and clean! reinstalling was way faster cause i didnt have to "move" around NASTY mud!!
