4 guage at a min, correct =)
from the alt > chassis, and the alt to the battery (alt > fusebox > batt in some cases)

but i'm not going to be drawing that much from it right now. the alt will really only push as much as being drawn (does that make since?)...

no, i wont be... i'll just be making an add-on plug from the toyota > gm alternator

Okay, that might work... You could potentially buy the ends from the electric shop so it's just snap and go. How will you know which wires are what, as in which wires to match up?

The toyota side you can find from a Haynes or dealership, yes... are you going to a GM dealer as well to find out what they are on the alternator itself though is what I'm asking.

guess what? the cs144 is not a workable option. it hits the upper control arm mount, there is no way to make it fit with stock mounting locations and/or washers.
you can make the upper mounting location work, but to get the proper alignment with the belt AND to keep it from hitting the head/dipstick then it physically WILL NOT fit...
so... eh...

now guess what... the CS130 is not a bolton application lol.
from this thread: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...949#post413949
He's exactly right. the bottom bolt location is about 4" off where it needs to be. if it were worthwhile, i'd make the necessary bracket... but, it's not.

I would get a real direct replacement like Bumpin' is talking about. Stout shady had this alternator too and I dont think he is very pleased with his either. I cant speak for him though. If you are interested in one, consider mine and his opinions. you may want to pm him cause im not positive on his feelings about his, but I know im not satisfied with mine. Power is great, but its too much of a PITA.

Wow... I just had a moment of complete complete stupidity... I just walked out to snaps some pics and my 4Runner is gone! Duh... did I forget dropping it off at the body shop this morning? Did I forget my 35 minute walk home from class? I'm sorry dudes, flame me like a Zippo, but I can't get any pics till late tomorrow, more realistically Wednesday. But, don't fear, I'll get them, every angle your heart's could desire. I'll take one for the team and crawl around in the snow too by the looks of the weather... Sorry!

i promise, there is no way that cs144 in it's stock casing will fit
for it to even come close to the adjustment/belt tensioner would be a miracle...
if you wanna go above and beyond, take it out and take some pics LOL
i have lots of pics from today...

the guy that did it HAD to have changed something.

lol... the case is the case, whatever he put in the inside didn't make it shrink i can assure you that! All the guy did was build it to 200 amps internally and put on the toyota plug... I'm really trying to think back and make sure I didn't do anything crazy, don't think I did... but it makes me wonder if there happened to be a design change from 98 to 99....

well, the alternator hasn't changed. i went up to gm and really pissed off the parts guy.

the cs144 hits the upper control arm mount thing in the engine bay, moving it to the left makes it move all the way over and hit the dipstick.
flipping it, makes it hit everything LOL

Do you happen to know where on the casing the model is stamped? I trust my receipt, but if I could catch it in one of the pics I'd try once I get my 4Runner back....
