Negative. That list is for a 2002. I think there is a write-up somewhere for 4th gens. I have no idea what a 2005 needs. Search here or over at toyota-4runner.org. One of the sites has a write-up for 4th gens I believe.

This entire thread is about 3rd gens.

Can some one please post some pics of blue led's w/ a digital climate control. I want to see what it'll look like before I purchase them. The one's that were previously posted aren't showing up anymore.

Thanks

i'm pretty sure the 4th gens don't have replaceable bulbs. the 05+ tacoma have leds soldered to the circuit board. i'm assuming that the 4th gens are the same

UV= black light. Ever see a black light? They look purple. Might not be exactly what you want, but as close as your going to get I bet. Plus if you wear a white T-shirt, it will glow when your driving at night.

BTW.... For those who said they had problems with the 74's being loose in the socket, Is it possible the correct bulb is a #24? I have not seen these bulbs in person so I have nothing to compare them to, but I just read on the autolumination site:

"#74 too small?.....#194 too big?.....This is your bulb:
#24 (T6-1/2, T2-1/4) bulbs are 3/4" (20mm) x 3/8 (8mm)" diameter"

Is that possible or not. I've been following this thread since the start and the more that get said, the more confused I get. From what I can tell, no matter what style you get, your going to get hot spots. Just some worse than others.

I hate to ask, but what is the general consensus (from those who have done this) on which style bulb to get for the climate controls and shifter? I saw some pics where the 'P' was not lit at all.

I think I am going with the WLED 5 for my gauges and a plain single LED for my key ring and cig lighter. The jury is still out on the climate and shifter style. Does this sound right? Has anyone tried those WLED 5's?

OK, now I have another Q. I have a 96 and assumed it was the same as a 98, but I took my climate control face off and found mine only requires 1 bulb as opposed to 2 in a 98. And the bulb fits into a small opening in the "light spreader outer thingy". So now I am not sure what size bulb it takes as it is different than a 98. Can someone venture a guess that has done this? Is that still a #74?

That's wierd... I have never seen that before. I'd imagine that it still takes a #74 LED, but you may have to file the tip down (similar to what you have to do for the key ring) to get it to fit in there. I think that it limits you to the single #74 LEDs though... Unless you want to modify the "light spreader outer thingy"

Well I finally remeberd to take some pictures last night of my leds I installed a LONG time ago.. I also snapped a few of my HID's I installed this past spring break. $100 shipped from hongkong or something. I got tired of buying new headlights from pepboys everytime mine would go out. My stock bulbs never went out but those "only offroad" ones would go out every 6 months or so. Im still AMAZED everytime I drive at night and how well lit road signs get when im approching them.

I also replaced my parking lights with leds and had to replace my front blinkers with led's to match everything. My blinkers do blink super fast like my turn signal is out and I know I could buy some relays for them but iv gotten used to them and dont really care.

The leds in the dash are just the regular front beaming leds and they do have hotspots but it doesnt bother me. They match my cd/dvd player now and look great. The blinker leds are SO bright. I even covered them with waxpaper and they still light up my face when I turn. This doesnt bother me eiather. Anyways these shots are from my cellphone so they really dont do them justice.

How did all the final projects turn out? I have read that you need size #24 also for somewhere in the complete bulb change out, this may be the way smaller size bulb than #74 that some people keep talking about

#24's are used behind the gauges in 99-02's. a #24 is in between a #194 (parking light bulbs) and a #74 (HVAC bulbs)

Hey man. If you are amazed now, look into retrofitting some projectors. You have some serious glare on your HID kit. Check out this thread:

hey man, yeah I remeber visiting that thread when it first came out... i was like.. one day.. one day. Now I finially have some. Its really not that "serious" of a glare actually... i mean they fit in the same mount as my stock headlights.. yeah they are a sh%^ load brighter but they still hit the path that my stock lights did. I thought it would be a problem and might even get pulled over. Iv had them for a while now and I have yet to get flashed or pulled over. I think the fact that so many new cars have them the cops pay less attention..maybe?

The thing that REALLY frustrates me is that when i turn on the brights the bright light icon doesnt show up in my dash.. so its like i have no idea if i accidently hit it forward and my brights are on.. i was on the freaking highway going back home and turned them on and i was like WOW this is crazy i can c signs like as far as i can see.. (I wasnt used to how the bright and regular looked of course) and road almost all the way back to my house with the brights on. When i finially relized it I felt SOO bad for the people I was driving behind.

Anyways I am definatly going to look into this, this summer when I have time to work on my runner some more. looks like alot of work. Like i said before, no one has flashed me or anything so im not worried about the glare but if it will concentrate the light even more... i really do what to do this because they are already incredible.

Cool man. Thanks for not getting all hot headed because I said you had glare. Yeah I no longer have the brights light on my dash, but it's a little easier to tell when I have my low beams on because of the definite cutoff.
Didn't mean to come off harsh, but I'm just sick of being blinded by HID kits. Seems like they're everywhere! There is one Subaru that has a kit that blinds me every time... and I'm driving a lifted truck!
I just wished that people would take the time to do it right. And the kicker is that you actually can see a heck of a lot better too cuz the projectors focus the light evenly and you aren't losing any light up in the sky. It seems like a lot of work, but man, is it worth it. And it doesn't take any special skills, just a little bit of time and patience. Look into it when you get some time, you won't be sorry!

I just replaced one of the LEDs I had in my dash (it was flickering for some reason) and I found these on superbrightleds.com. I don't think they had this high power version when I ordered my LEDs or I would have gotten it.

Anyway, here is the difference, and for those that care, the high power leds are brighter and fit with no problems.

This is what I had behind the gauges, which was good.

I replaced with these. Much brighter.
