well, different frequencies of Ultra Violet light (a.k.a. types of UV) lol. No such thing as fake UV, either it is or it isn't. UV can have some tint added to it though, and then it wouldn't be pure UV light haha.

UV Tinted normal light is ok on the eyes, full blown UV light is hard on the eyes.

Lots actually.

mike here's what I come up with for my '02 Limited:
Shifter: 74
Digital Climate Control: 2 - neowedge type A (3mm), 2 - type B (4mm)
Defrost/ECT: neowedge type A
Rear window: neowedge type A
Ash Tray: 74
Key Ring: 74
Map Lights: 2 - Ba9
Domes: 2 - Festoons
Glove box: 74
Vanity: 2 - 31mm fuse bulb
Not positive on the following but pretty sure:
Gauge Illumination: 3 - 24's
4WD: 3 - neowedge Type B
All other gauge lights: 74's
Blinkers: 2 - 74
A note on the digital climate control: There are one (probably two) lights that I didn't try to get to. They are most likely soldered. One light is the fresh/recycle air button and I believe there is another similar button on the upper right. Maybe this summer I'll get to it. Just a warning if you don't have soldering experience replacing the DCC if you screw up is quite expensive. Problem is the fresh/recycle button is always on so it will probably be annoying if everything else is a different color.
Power window, security, passenger seatbelt are all soldered.
I think that covers everything. Thank you everyone that contributed to this thread!!!!

I would like to do the roof too. Someone that has done their vehicle just need to post a DEFINITIVE fit size kit for certain years. That would be great... This thread has great info in it though!

LED's
Alrighty question.
I see the 74's i want from autolumination.com but nowhere do i see a catagory for 24's for the 3rd gen guage cluster. i know i need 3 of them. I have checked other sites and cant seem to locate them either. so clearly im not looking in the right catagory . im looking for wide angle x5 blue LED's. and i need three of them.
Thanks,

I've read through as many pages as I can stand, and searched for "1996"....all with no avail for answering my question.
I have a 96 Limited. I assume the gauge cluster uses the 194's...but what does the climate control, shifter, key ring, cig lighter, etc...use? I pulled my climate control apart and the doofus that owned the 4runner before me had a old fashioned single blue LED with two wire leads jimmey'd in there. I don't even know what it was supposed to be like from the factory.
Anybody got info on 1996-97 models? Thanks!!!!

I been wanting to change up my interior lighting for some time now and have read through most of this thread. I have a '99 Limited. I couldn't find anything in these threads about the 99's (or i got tired of reading and skipped over it) so I finally decided to just pull my whole dash apart today. The lighting for the gauges seemed to be all neo wedges although the lights come out of the wedge. They are really really small. I don't think the 24's or even 74's will fit in these wedges. I haven't seen anyone through this thread say anything about having neo-wedges for the gauge lights, mainly 74's or 194's so was wondering if anyone has done the backlighting on a 99 limited.
