How bad are the spots really? just there? or makes it hard to see the rest of the numbers bad?
You can barely notice the hot spots, Overall it looks great!

For the 99, I believe they are 194's.

My '98 uses #194s and has no hot spots, I think it's a little harder to find a good bulb that spreads the light in the smaller sizes. 99+ I think use #24s but like Brian did you could get by with #74s.

size, a 24 is in between a 194 and a 74. I put a 74 in mine to see if it would work and was very loose, I was worried it would work its way out really fast but I may be wrong.

Haha yeah man, now everything matches EXCEPT my HVAC controls. I'm going to order some Neo-wedge bulbs and get to work on that ASAP...

ojhk, You can always order 74's and if they don't fit, you can put them other places in your 4Runner. The glove box, cigarette lighter ring, ash tray light, the shifter, and the ignition ring all use 74 bulbs.

Annoying IMO. But then some of the dash might be UV sensitive so it could look neat....

Does anyone have pictures of the dash lights in red or orange? I have orange lights in my 07' Tacoma, and I didn't like them at first. Now they have grown on me, and I am thinking of switching my 4Runner to match...

Thanks!

Ok iv had my speed-hut gauges for years now and have not replaced anything else sep for CD player. Alot of my interior lights are burnt out so its about time for a change.

Im lovin the key ring light most of yall have changed out. Need an opinion though. My gauges are blue. I have a double din dvd/cd player that can change the buttens to red or green (i always keep on red). The background of it is blue though. Do you think I could get away with changing them (Climate controls, A/C....) to red? Heres an old pic. I do not have that radar detector anymore so the blue led there is gone..and I hate thieves!

Also if you have any combos in mind like the keyring blue, HAVC red...Shifter letters blue rest red...thanx!

IMO changing the rest out to red would look pretty good, especially considering you already have the blue/red theme going...

ok im almost done shopping/searching for all the leds I need. Have a few questions though. I copyed your list you posted a while back.
-2 #74 for the climate control
-1 #74 for the shifter
-1 #74 for the ignition key ring
-1 #74 for the ash tray
-1 Neo-wedge for the A/C
-2 Neo-wedge for the rear defroster
...
Are all 3 Neo-wedge leds type A?(8mm)
what did you use for ECT on control panel?(Not in the guage display)
and Rear window button?

1) I believe they are all type A.

2) I left both the stock green. Remember that your '99 may be different in a few things, so double check those numbers; Mine is a '98, so my rear window and ECT buttons are by the hand brake. They are not replaceable bulbs; you would have to take apart the switch and solder an LED in it. At least that's how mine are...
