Question Gauge Cluster replacement (need help quick)

hey guys i want to bid on a new gauge cluster from a 97 for my 98. i want to do this because my current heat and gas gauges are inaccurate because of some old gauge faces that required me to take off the needles, and as a result, the heat and gas gauges dont work correctly. so my question for all of you is...
would i be able to take these gauges to a shop and have them change the mileage to match my current mileage so i can just swap the clusters?
i need help quick, the auction ends in 40 mins!!!

I'm not sure if they can do anything with the odometer. I've know people that had to get their clusters replace at the dealership for a recall and they didn't even tally it up to the current milage they just scratched it into the door id plate. This was on a mechanical odometer. But then again the dealership might have just been doing things as quickily as possible. If the milage is lower no problem and if it is higher on the new one just unplug you speedometer for a while
