Gas smell...where is it?

Wow!
I'm getting a real strong gas smell in the cab when i come to a stop.
Seems to be located on the passenger side in the engine bay.
I tried playing with the charcoal cannister.

Any ideas?

Do you have Fuel Injection?

My wife's Nissan Maxima did the same thing and it was a fouled injector. Could be a place to look?

Avoid Taco Bell.

(ok,got the immature fart comment out of the way)

Check around your injectors and maybe the fuel filter.

I had the same smell mixed with an exhaust smell and it turned out to be a leaking/cracked exhaust manifold.

That as well as the other things mentioned would be a good place to start.

I had a strong gas smell in my '85, and it turned out to be a crack in my fuel dampener. Might want to check that.

Hey Todd , have you checked your fuel dampener yet? It's a pretty common source for fuel leakage on the 3.o . Its located on the rear of the PS fuel rail under the plenum (you can't see it) Daryl
