gas milage different question/thought

My 3.0 isnt the best on gas. Thats not the problem.

It is getting gas every other exit !!

Anyone know how big the gas tank on a 1st gen is? I have not had it long enough to find out on accident. I have not seen the light come on -even with the needle on E.

This is actually the most fuel efficent vehicle i have ever owned. It is also the first V6.

so I do not mind paying for gas, but at least my other gas guzlers had tanks big enough to keep me from always stoping.

No owners manual I take it? I had an 85 xtra cab, I'm pretty sure the tank was 15.5 gals on that one. Not sure if the v6 rigs had the same size or not. Odd thing was, when that truck said "e", there was still over 5 gals in the tank.

when mine's on E the most I've ever put in was 12.1 and I thought it was going to run out any min. I read on edmunds.com that the 3.0 has a 16 gal. tank but I'm still not all too sure about that..

YEah ive been putting 12 gallons in every time too, with the needle deep into E i am afraid to go much farther even tho it seems a 12 or 16 gallon tank would be more reasonable.

Not that this exactly applies to your question...

but I was looking the other day, and apparently in 2nd Gen's the 2WD and 4WD have different size gas tanks. Just food for thought!
