Stock 2nd generation with 45,000 miles, K&N filter, and Borla exhaust. Getting 20 mpg hwy under normal conditions. With hills, headwind, etc. getting no worst than 16 mph. Combined city and hwy getting 16-18 mph.

Mileage

On a pretty much stock '91 SR5 V6 5spd 20 mpg at about 65 mph.
Throw on the aisin hubs, pick up 3 mpg.
Keep in mind that this is moderate speeds, mostly all highway, windows closed and no airconditioning.

WOW That's some seriously low mileage for a 2nd Gen!!
Do a search on the mileage thing. I typed it into the search function and found 563 threads dealing with the subject. I get about 12 in the city romping around and well much better on the highway. Never calculated exact since everything here is in liters and stuff.

im running 33in tires with stock 4.56 gears and a 5sp tranny and i get around 15-20 mpg depending on city/hwy driving. i also have a roof rack with lights and a spare tire up there so im sure that adds some wind resistance. with a bone stock runner you can prob expect near 20 most of the time as long as you dont have a lead foot

"Throw on the aisin hubs, pick up 3 mpg."
that might be a little bit of a stretch, maybe 1mpg gain but not much more than that

OK,OK, that's probably a combination of the new hubs and a lighter foot
But, the over all gain IS true, as I've monitored it regularly (like every fill up) and kept the spreadsheet to boot! Each time I fill I log the kilometers and liters used on my PDA running pocket Excel. Each persons results are gonna vary. However, you're correct in stating 1 mpg may be more accurate based on the typical driving most members do...trails, traffic, speed, aircon, etc.

My '90 V6, 31" tires, auto tranny typically got (I sold it at 210,000 miles) 20-21 mpg combined. It dropped about 1-2 mpg when I switched to a set of Rovers (it probably used the extra fuel to "sing" down the highway). My drive is mostly hilly backroads with some (small) city driving.

My 3VZE always used 16-18 mpg. (Mostly 16mpg)
Now with my 7M-GE I have 21 mpg with combined driving, plus 55hp more! Even with my right foot.
On the highway with a constant speeds of 100 mph, it still uses only 21 mph!
I own my Runner now for three years, but never got the 3VZE up to 20 mph. Even with very slow driving. (a 3VZE doesn't run fast anyhow)
