Ok, all what do you think about this...

I was sitting in my truck, 92 4x4 with 155,000, 2.4L, at the gas station when it just quit running. I had just filled up the tank with gas and was sitting there idling, and it just quit running. I tried to start it again and found that the efi fuse was blown, I replaced it, and it blew another one. I tried jumping the efi relay by jumping B+ and FP in the digonistics terminal, recomemded by a friend to see if the relay was bad, and it still blew the efi fuse. It acted like it wanted to start and then the fuse blew. Is it the pump or something else. How hard is it to change a pump out, and what should I expect along the way. Thanks in advance.

Could be the pump, could also be a wiring short somewhere. They can be lots of fun to track down. Try taking a piece of wire, with an inline fuse on it, from the positive battery terminal to the FP terminal in the diagnostic box. That'll bypass the EFI relay and fuse, may narrow down the search. If that fuse goes than the problem is in the pump or wiring to the pump.
You have to drop the tank to change the pump, it's inside. Before you do that I would check the wiring under the truck for broken insulation.

Really don't know. If its blowing the fuse its grounding out somewhere. Did you try the search function on this forum? When somethings been coverd several times people just stop posting about it after a while.

Another tech I know just fixed this problem on a 92. It was the PCM but don't replace it until you check it further. The EFI fuse goes to a lot of things. Get a bunch of fuses (or a circuit braker and 2 male spade terminals) and a schematic. Unplug one possible cause and see if the fuse blows. Keep doing this til you narrow it down.
