Fuel Leak, but Truck running fine?

I noticed a fuel leak from the line coming immediately off the fuel pump. It started and ran fine, drove 3 miles to Home Depot, then noticed a strong gas smell and a moderate leak under the truck. Looked underneath and noticed fuel coming from the area circled in the photo. It stopped in a couple minutes.

Took 3 cranks but it started and idled/ran fine driving back home. I changed the fuel sub assembly hose with OEM replacement and it continued to leak but still runs fine. Then I changed the fuel filter with OEM since it needed changing and was immediately downstream on the line, still leaks from the same place.
Truck is 2004 Tacoma 3.4L V6 with 177,000 miles.
Does anyone here have any ideas what would cause a leak in this location but hasn’t caused any poor running or idling (yet)?

Rusted Metal line ?

Something wedged up there rubbed through the line either rubber or metal.

The leak is not bad enough yet still enough fuel pressure if it is the pressure line like you think it is.

Your only one bad bump if that much away from a visit from the fire company .

Haha, I definitely don’t want to catch on fire. I stopped driving it regularly once I noticed the leak.
i followed the line up from the fuel pump, through the fuel filter and under the hood. It doesn’t have any outward appearance of rust or other leaks that I can see. When I replaced the hose coming off the fuel pump (77209), the fitting on the fuel pump looked really good.
Is there anything that may cause high pressure in the fuel lines? I’ve looked and can’t really find anything. Thought maybe the pressure regulator but everything I see shows that causing low pressure and poor running conditions.
Reason I ask is that fuel hose I replaced has plastic snap clips and is not threaded. So perhaps a higher pressure could cause it to leak there?
thanks for the reply wyoming9.

If it has those clips it is a newer vehicle just what year??

If that is the hose you replaced sometimes those fittings get some grit that keeps them from sealing .

Prior to installing the new hose you cleaned the steel line making sure no dirt was on there

They can also not seat correct and don`t lock in place .

A Idea to make assembly faster on the line

Just so you know the fuel pressure can be 38 to 46 psi that is what your dealing with .

It’s a 2004. The hose in the pic is the old one but the new one is identical.
The steel lines looked clean and there were no obvious defects in the o-rings. The red tabs had an audible click when I snapped them on.
I wiped the steel line but didn’t do too much since it looked good.
I will get under there and take that hose off again and brush the steel line with a copper brush. I’ll put a small amount of oil on the o-rings inside the hose. There were no instructions for that, but they say to oil the o-rings on the pressure regulator and on the flanges at the fuel filter, so maybe it will help prevent leaks there too.
I haven’t checked the pressure in the system yet. I want to, but my Haynes manual isn’t very helpful on that part and there is no easy schrader valve to plug a gauge into. Still researching the best way to do that on this model.
Thank you for the help so far.
