Front Mount Trailer Hitch Spare Tire Adapter

Has anyone used one of these Front Mount Trailer Hitch Spare Tire Adapters on their REAR trailer hitch?

Nope, but I definitely like it. Anyone with oversized tires that don't fit under the truck could use it to free some bed space. I have a Yakima Hitch Bike rack that folds down when you pull a pin so that you can get into the back tailgate/hatch, too bad that doesn't have that feature.

Would this be a permanent solution, as in, you'd have a spare sitting mounted in front of your car while driving everyday?

My question was if anyone has experience using this type of spare tire adapter on their REAR trailer hitch.

I don't see why you couldn't, it works along the same principles right? You slide it into the adapter and put in a pin.

put the lime in the coke you nut.......

anyways.... you could put it in the rear.... however it would severly block access to your hatch/tailgate... i dont think i want to remove my spare tire everytime i want to put my tailgate down.....

I have seen a lot of people around here mostly with old vans and old full size pickups with front mounted spare tires.

also though of something else... its a 4 runner, with the tire mounted up that high, your back window becomes a solid door... you cant see through solid doors (unless you are Superman)

Yeah, I know, I was just saying stuff again. There is no reason he couldnt, but it would be horribly inconvienient all the time, even worse with a 4Runner than an P/U.

A while back someone made folding reciver mount carriers, but the weight of a large tire and the lever action on the length of the tube makes it shake like a pan of jiffy pop, and maybe fail and break. Best solution for spare tire mounting is in order,

-Stock
-Custom/aftermarket bumper carrier (well made!)
-On roof rack / in bed
-Forget it, just carry a tire repair kit, a 12V compressor and maybe throw in the spare for long trips.
