Heya all, long time no post for me, but heres a question...
looking to change the front rotors on my 87 4 runner, do the rotors just slide on and off? thats what it looks like from the new rotors, thanks in advance..

I wish it was that easy. You have to pull off the hub/rotor assembly, then take the rotor off the hub and put the new rotor back on the hub. You might want to repack the berings and the inside of the hub. It took me about 3hrs. to do the job. it's very simple but it just takes time.

 

thanks oly, i figure it might take me an hour max with a lift at work... one of the advantages to working at a dealership i guess... i see you run x-terrains, how do you like them?

 

I LOVE them. They are very very quiet on road, and they keep their grip off the road. I'd get them if you plan on doing at least a fair amount of wheeling (about 1 time a month) to get the use out of them. the only problem with them is that they last for around 25,000-30,000 miles. If I had to do it again, I would.

 

cool, i do some pretty decent wheeling, at least once a week, and i plan on going with the procomp stage 1 and the rockstomper ifs flex kit, and 33" x terrains, maybe 35s, first things first is the locked rear and mild rebuild/buildup.....gonna stick with my 4.30s with 33s maybe 4.56 with 35s......what kind of terrain do you wheel?

 

Lots of off camber. not too much rocks. mostly loose soil/mud and also lots of water.

Where do you do this in South Florida? I know Ocala's pretty cool, but that's about the only place I've heard about.

 

never been to ocala, but if you get down around exit 25-20 in fort myers, florida, there's lots of really out of the way places to wheel, nothing thats impossible to do, but lots of really weird trails and small hills, etc, also some gunky mud and lots of water crossings through canals....
