Forward jerking before coming to a complete stop

The forward jerking only happen just before the car comes to a complete stop. The jerking can be very rough at time. Also, this only happen when the engine is cold to warm. When the engine is at normal operating temperature, it's fine. Also, only on cold start, the car doesn't move when I give it some gas. I will have to give it a lot of gas before it kicks in and move. A few times, I almost slam into the car in front trying to get out of a tight parallel parking space.

I just had my tires rotated and balanced and had the front rotor and pads checked and all are fine. Any ideas what is causing this? Thanks.

maybe ts the rear slip yoke, search for that on this site, although that doesnt sound exactly like what happens.

basically involves regreasing the drive shaft slip yoke with the zerk fitting.

Check to see if you are low on tranny fluid regarding the slow response to the accelerator, or it could even be the parking brake is sticking for some reason.

I think it is a transmission problem not a drive shaft.
I would check your transmission fluid level and if it is normal I would recommend changing fluid and cleaning transmission filter.

I know my 4Runner jerks a little bit when it down shifts into 1st while slowing down, especially when its cold, after I put my lock-rite locker in. I figured it was because there was a little bit more play in the rear diff. with the locker in. Have you tried turning your drive shaft by hand to see if there is any play in it? Just my 2 cents.

Check your tranny fluid level, lube the driveshaft slip yoke (usually makes a loud BANG when it moves) and check the rear drums to make sure you don't have a leaky axle seal or drums that are sticking to the shoes.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try and lube the u-joints and slip yoke when the sun comes out.

My transmission fluid level is ok. I had it flushed along with F and R differential and transfer case a couple of months ago.

I thought my brake was stucked also and had it checked when I had the tires rotated and balanced.

Whitey, the symptoms described from the link is pretty similar to mine. Hopefully, lubing it will fix my issues. Will keep you guys up to date. Thanks again.

Finally got the pistol grip gun working. After lubing all the driveshaft, took the car for a test drive. The truck still jerked a bit but much better. Hopefully, after a few more run will rid this jerking. Thank you all for your input.
