Fog light bulbs to go with silverstars

I just got a set of silverstars for my headlights that I hope to install today. Im looking to find a foglight bulb (H3) to compliment the look of the silverstars. Looking at the sylvania website, it seems as they dont make silverstars in H3. Any suggestions on what kind of bulb to use?

Ok..maybe im brain dead..but can someone also give me some insight on how to go about replacing the headlight bulb. there is a rubber cap that says "top pull" It seems that by simply pulling on that ..the bulb does not come out. I dont want to break anything..any help would be appreciated.

I didn't drive mine to work today so I can't be sure, but I think when I changed my bulbs it was pretty straightforward. Maybe you need to twist it to unlock first or something, or maybe the rubber is just a boot? Sorry for the vague answer but I just can't recall.

Thanks Tom, I just figured it out. The rubber thing was in fact just a boot. I feel dumb for not being able to figure it out off the bat ..oh well..live and learn. Now if anyone has any ideas on my original question..Im thinking going with a piaa xtreme white for the fog light bulb but im open to other suggestions.

I use PIAA XTreme White H3 for my fogs and XTreme H4 for my headlights, it's pretty.

Unhappy Dissappointing Fogs

Well, I've been dissappointed in the foglights I got. One of those Asian brands. My headlights are impressive (at least for me) -- 90/100 watts versus everyone else's 80/100 watts and 6000K while still providing all the light I'll ever need. I pulled my dad's BMW with real H.I.D. and projector lenses and my mom's Land Cruiser next to mine and compared the lights. If my dad's were a 10 and my mom's a 2, mine would be an 8 in whiteness. The only problem I can imagine with the foglights is that they don't have as high of a wattage output as the headligts, so I guess I'm on the same page as you. PIAA makes good stuff though, they're just pricey.

What's a good place to purchase PIAA XTreme White H3s?

Thanks,

I bought PIAA H3 XTreme White 55W at OptAuto.com for $43.75 and H4 60/55W for $49.50. THese are the best prices that I can find.

NOTE NOTE: DO NOT use PIAA XTreme White Corner bulbs if you have clear corner lens, they are so blue, NOT white. It looks so ugly in the combination. Try to use the super white for clear corners instead.

Thanks for the reply!

Are PIAA H3 XTreme White 55W pretty white compared to factory fog lights (HELLA)? Since I already have Silverstars in my headlights I'm trying to visualize if PIAA will somewhat match...

Andrey,
PIAA H3 Xtreme White 55W is way brighter than the factory one. I haven't seen the Silverstar brightness so I can't compare the two.

What is the price for the SilverStars?

I paid $19 e.a. for Silverstars.

As far as factory fogs, I believe my are pretty bright already, they're just exactly the same color as my original OE Toyota bulbs there. And now after switching to Silverstars my fogs look pretty yellow.

I guess yellow fogs is not a bad thing, but since here in AZ we get rain once in a century, I'm not very concerned about fog lights functionality.
