Flush mount valves for your wheels - anyone running them?

I had seen these a while back and thought they would be pretty useful. I'm curious how they work in the real world though. How does the filler tube work? Anyone have thoughts on these?

I wanted them the last time I bought tires. My thinking was that they would not be as easy to break when snagged on something.

The actual valve and stem part extends into the inside of the wheel -- inside the tire. That part is threaded on the outside of the stem and a nut and seal cranks down from the inside to squash it all together on the wheel.

I did not end up using them, however, because the seal or seat was flat and the inside of my wheel was curved as I recall. There was no machined surface for the seal to seat against. We looked it over at the tire store and decided it wasn't going to work for my application.

I have a set of these:

Have not installed them yet, but I think they should work. They have screw-in extensions for filling and airing down.
