Flowmaster and the 22re
My stock exhaust is in need of replacement. So, I'm putting on a high-flow cat and a Flowmaster muffler when the tax refund arrives.
Those of you who run a Flowmaster with the 22re, which muffler (series, inlet/outlet size, etc.) did you get and did you go with 1 or 2 outlets. Any drone in the cab? Does anyone have a sound clip of their setup (single and dual outlets appreciated)?
I can't afford a header yet, but will get one probably in the spring, thus the consideration of dual outlets. Please keep this in mind when you reply.

a header has nothing to do with your outlet on the muffler....
you dont need duals, your engine really doesnt need that much free flowing exhuast, it does need some backpressure...
i have a flowmaster 40 2.25" single in/out with a turndown jsut after the muffler... its loud. has considerable drone... i personally love the way it sounds, good and throaty and loud, but doesnt sound like some killer bumble bee civic.....

I just put a LCE header on mine with a new high flow cat and a Delta Flow 40 Series Flowmaster and new 2 1/4" exhaust pipe. If you want it quiet, don't get a Flowmaster, get a stock muffler. Dual exhaust on a 22RE is a waste of money.

The reason I asked about the dual outlets is because I saw this setup on louscustomexhaust.com, and wondered what the sound difference would be. As you can see, it's not true duals. I figured with dual outlets, and the increased flow, I'd need a header. BTW, this setup is on a Yota.

Also, I think I'll probably go with the 50-Series Delta Flow. Roger Brown has a QuickTime clip on his site. It's a little quieter, with a little less noise inside the cab.

I have an original flowmaster 40 on my 3.0, and its nice and loud, but not too loud. With the music up and windows up, i can hear it a tad bit... With the music up and the windows down i can hear it loud, but not so loud its drowning out the music, and with the windows down and music down its really loud. I originally had them put the Deltaflow 50 on it, i took it back the next day and had it swapped for the 40 cuz with the 50 its loud when you first start off from a stop, then it goes away and you cant hear it at all... It just left me wanting more... But yeah, i have single in and out, and its ran over the rear axle and is tucked between the spare tire and the leaf spring. If you want loud go with the 40, if you want quiet go with the 50. Just my 2c.
