flipping hitch

I was searching how to flip the rear hitch but I keep hitting dead ends. I know there are people that have done it and write-ups but I can't find one. I keep getting expired links or something. I tried midiwalls site but all the 4runner stuff is gone and a few others I can't remember the names of but nothing. Can anyone point me in the right direction to a write-up with a few pics if possible. Your helps greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, turboale's write-up doesn't work but I got the "original" creators write-up from his thread. Anyone have any pictures of there's done? Only picture I've seen is in the thread linked here and it's pretty small.

Will these do?

Note. You do NOT have to cut off the loops. It is a little tricky to get the hitch mounted up (order of operations on putting in the bolts), but no cutting is required.

The hitch-flip turned out nice Scott; I might have to do the same.

Definitely the cheapest, highest yield mod I've done yet! A little leftover paint from the last time I redid the skids and sliders, a little leftover vacuum tube from the S/C project, and a little electricity for the sawsall and grinder... Several degrees of clearance in the back for ... um... free!!!!!

It was definitely the one piece of my armor that got hit EVERY time I went out.

Pretty easy, 6 bolts, some cutting, some 'persuading' of the loops and bumper to fit a little better. Voila!

Works great, loops are harder to get to but still usable when I tow and the tailgate still clears my sportworks bike rack.

And if you don't want to cut your bumper you can always do a body lift (haha)! A 2"BL works great!
