Well just an update. For me, the Daystar Cradles didn't work out so well. The way things lined up, and the only way they could line up, the air bags were just not 100% centered in the cradles. This mostly didn't matter, but a few times, the passenger side bag came out of the cradle and was stuck on the cradle edge. Somehow the driver side bag, which was better lined up, either somehow got a hole, or got caught on the edge of the cradle and ripped open. I haven't looked too closely to see what the hole looks like yet, but the bag was hung up in the cradle and clanging every time I hit a bump.

Anyway I had to take out the bags. Then...because you have to cut out the bump stops to install the springs, the cradles then become the bump stops without the air bags in there, and I think I must have bottomed out on the cradles. One of them actually broke. So they're both out now.

So I'm going to see if I can fix the busted air bag with some green slime, then install them the way Firestone wants, without the cradle.

I think maybe with bigger, later model Tacomas this setup works, but somehow things didn't line up exactly right with my truck and having the bags just slightly off-center from the cradles must have been stressing them when I hit bumps. So if the broken bag has a tear and not just a hole...I'm out $300...

Anyway this is just one person's experience, but my advice to anyone who might read this and find info on Daystar Cradles and think they're a good idea...is to stick with the stock Firestone installation. Annoying what that does to your suspension articulation, but...I guess that's the trade-off. If anyone has had better luck with the cradles, I'd love to hear about it though.
