Fender Well Gap Guards Install
#2
I saw a cheap way to do this once. It involved something called vinyl garden siding or something like that. It's like sheets of rubber, so you can cut it out to the size you need and screw it on. I'd check some hardware stores or Home Depot for it.

Bah don't waste your money on those setups, just find yourself a sheet of thick black rubber and cut away. Use the stock one as a template for the holes, just add 2 inches (or whatever your body lift is) in between the body holes and frame holes. You can see part of mine in this pic:

I just used the stock plastic fasteners in some locations, the fasteners you see that look like they have a line on them i just picked up at autozone, the have long pastic screw-ends on the that fit perfect into the stock holes. They were in the Help! stuff section with the interior trim stuff. I just used teh stock gap guard mount holes, so no drilling was required, I have more pics of using the stock ones as templates if you want to see them.

Ahh I guess you caught me, I just dug through my old pics and I can only find some of them before I installed them. I don't have any on the back, theat doesn't bother me, I just wanted the front to protect the engine components.

I also am in need of gap guards. I couldn't find any garden vinyl siding that were mentioned earlier on this post anywhere. I ended up buying a set of cheapo($10 at AutoZone)black floor mats made of thin but durable rubber that were perfect for this type of application. Just trim to appropriate size. I also bought the Help! fasteners($10), 18 in a pack.

Got it done...went to the flooring dept of the local home depot and picked up some vinyl floor runners and cut to fit. Worked perfectly. I used the stock mounting hardware in the front and about ten self-tapping black painted crews for the back. No more looking through the back end!!!
