Factory Radar Detector
Has anyone ever seen a factory radar detector installed straight from Toyota? I bought my 88 4Runner last Feb and it has one. It really works too...I was amazed....I mean it says "Toyota" right on it....maybe I'll have to take a pic and post it....lol

Actually...It works quite well...it still picks up other radar detectors.....but still picks up radar too....lol....I think it's cool....the only thing that bugs me about it...is while I have it on at night or a gloomy day where it's dark out....the lights from it reflect wicked bad on the inside of the windshield.....really annoying....

Well look at that... a stock radar detector, in a non-SR5 no less. Maybe it's Canadian? Forgive my skepticism, but does that Toyota sticker peel off easy? Do you have tilt steering and does the detector get in the way of it?

Oh yeah. My friends mother had the built in detector in her Benz. They pulled her over and the cop crawled under the car and snipped the wires off the sensor, then removed it altogether. He said she could contest the ticket if she had a problem with it, meaning she would get a bigger fine in court for admitting the offense by asking for the sensor back.
